About the Job:

This position reports directly to the CEO/President and carries out responsibilities related to National CORE's strategic communications and public policy initiatives in the areas of affordable housing and community development, including community transformation through innovative public / private partnerships and service strategies. 

Provide high-level support to the CEO/President by coordinating corporate initiatives, activities, and projects that lead to the health of the entire organization.  Handle information requests, and performs functions such as preparing correspondence, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings.  Enhance the CEO/President's effectiveness by providing information management support and represent the CEO/President to others.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the CEO/President's appointment schedule by planning meetings, conferences, teleconferences and travel.
  • Plan and direct all administrative, financial, and operational activities for the CEO/President.
  • Conserve CEO/President's time by reading, researching, and routing correspondence / emails, drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; initiating telecommunications.
  • Represent the CEO/President by attending meetings; speaking for the CEO/President; taking minutes; following up as appropriate.
  • Answering or directing inquiries to the CEO/President.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Complete monthly expense and mileage reports and credit card reconciliations.
  • Must attend Company sponsored events that relate to the development of the team, which, from time to time, may include overnight stays at locations away from the employee's home.

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have excellent administrative skills that include scheduling and travel, Microsoft Office, organization, time management, presentation skills.
  • Must be able to write clearly and informatively and read and interpret written information.
  • Collect and research data.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Focus on solving conflict, not blaming.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Listen and get clarification; respond well to questions.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • 5 - 10 years of executive level support experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and Office software including but not limited to, Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, Power Point and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Be able to comprehend and follow instructions.
  • Maintain work pace appropriate to given workload.
  • Relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions.
  • Make generalizations, evaluations or decisions without immediate supervision.
  • Team player.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Operate computer and office equipment.
  • Work is primarily sedentary in nature.
